Betty Jean (Dyer) Lane, 87, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Thursday, May 25th, at Monroe County Medical Center.
Betty was born in Tompkinsville, KY on January 31, 1936, a daughter of the late Dora (Anderson ) and Bob Dyer.
On January 26, 1952, she married Ishmael Glen Lane, who preceded her in death on May 27, 2019.
Betty was a homemaker and she truly enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of Rock Valley Church of Christ. Betty enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diana Proffitt and Jimmie, of Tompkinsville, KY.
Betty is also survived by three sisters, Virginia Sprowl, of Tompkinsville, KY; Katherine Jackson, of Tompkinsville, KY and Clara Combs, of Shepherdsville, KY.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Mack Dyer and sisters, Gladys Cook, Margaret Sprowl, Inez Emmert and Addie Crabtree.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31st at Rock Valley Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Bailey Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, and Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Rock Valley Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Bailey Cemetery, Potter Children’s Home or American Cancer Society.
