Wayne “Weiner” Hammer, age 73, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away on February 27, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 23, 1949, the son of the late Clarence Elbert and Ruby Mae (Dubree) Hammer. He married Gay Bartley on June 16, 1990. He served 23 years in the 623rd National Guard as Staff Sgt. and was a courier for South Central Bank for over 30 years. Wayne attended Tompkinsville Church of Christ and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gay (Bartley) Hammer, two daughters, Leslie Sparks of Summer Shade, and Kellie Ann Holloran and husband Mason of Sturgis, Kentucky; two grandchildren, John Garrett Hammer, and Blaire Ruby Holloran; four brothers -in law; one sister-in-law; mother-in-law, Jean Bartley; several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; father-in-law, Fred Bartley.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Wayne Cleary will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning after 8:00 a.m. until time for the service at 3:00 p.m.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in memory of Wayne “Weiner” Hammer and can be made at the funeral home.
