Frances Leigh Newman Lambert, 92, of the Pope community passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at her residence. The Scottsville, KY native was a 1948 graduate of Scottsville High School, owner and operator of Cut & Curl Beauty Shop and member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church since 1948. She loved working in her flowers, drawing and photography and was loving known as Cousin Minnie in the Citizen Times since 1994. She was a daughter of the late Roy Lee Newman and Mattye Belle Harrison Newman and wife of the late Edward Mayhew Lambert.
She is survived by 1 son: Mark Lambert and wife, Linda, the Pope community; 2 daughters: Dianne Lambert and Rita Wallace, both of the Pope community;1 sister: Jo Laxton, Accomac, VA;7 grandchildren: Jason Lambert and wife, Kimberly, Bowling Green, KY; Amanda Turner and husband, Clay, and Brandi Gann and husband, Tony, all of Alvaton, KY; Katie Earls and husband, Ryan; Bill Wallace and fiancee’, Hannah Blakey; Kelly Ransom and wife, Spring, and Kevin Ransom, all of Scottsville, KY; 11 great grandchildren: Bryson Carr, Amarillo, TX; Thomas Lambert and Hannah Lambert, both of Bowling Green, KY; Lucas Gann, Sophia Gann, John Avery Gann, Kyra Gann and Mary Grace Turner, all of Alvaton, KY; Kayla Steele and husband, Brandon, and Harmony Ransom, all of Scottsville, KY; Seth Ransom, Glasgow, KY; 3 great grandchildren: Shelby Steele, Olivia Steele and Brayden Steele; 1 cousin: Martha Rodgers, Madisonville, KY; 2 nephews: Tim Laxton, Richmond, VA and Kit Laxton and wife, Kim, Accomac, VA.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Patty Newman and a granddaughter: Tonya McCandless.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Kaleb Anderson officiating and burial in Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Harmony Cemetery.
