Jerry Wayne Emmitt, 72, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at his residence.  The Glasgow, KY native was a farmer, former employee of Clark Lumber Company, Woodstock, Willoughby Farms and Wagner Brake.  He was a son of the late Lee Lawrence Emmitt and Clara Maude Clark Emmitt and husband of the late Ida Mae Perkins Emmitt.

He is survived by 2 sons: Jerry Phillip Emmitt, Scottsville, KY; Johnny Lee Emmitt and fiancee’, Amy, Lafayette, TN;

2 daughters: Betsy Mae Overstreet and husband, Lonnie, Lafayette, TN and Melissa Gail Emmitt, Scottsville, KY;

2 brothers: Earl Gene Emmitt, Glasgow, KY and William Ray Emmitt and wife, Betty, Scottsville, KY;

1 sister: Louise James, Tampa, FL;

13 grandchildren: Matthew Overstreet, Dusty Overstreet, Aja Overstreet, Austin Overstreet, Zacharey Emmitt, Seairah Danford (Tyler); Katelyn Emmitt, Brandon Emmitt, Nathaniel Overstreet, Jesse Overstreet, Ally Perry, Trevor Perry and Everleigh; 5 great grandchildren: Malcolm Emmitt, Ryder James Durham, Jaxson Clay Durham, Ava Turner and Kenai Cornwell.

He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Joint funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. David Payne and Bro. Nathaniel Overstreet officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 7:00 A.M. Wednesday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
