Jimmie C. Wood, age 83, of Smiths Grove, died Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Hospice House in Bowling Green. He was born in Dry Fork, KY, on April 13, 1939, to the late Albert Wood and the late Irene (Jenkins) Wood. He was a machine operator at Eaton and a member of Browders Chapel Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Tommy Wood (Debbie) of Horse Cave, Bruce Wood (Kathy) of Glasgow, and Chris Furlong (Whitney Broady) of Park City; former daughter in law, Karen Furlong of Hiseville; nine grandchildren, Billy Thomason (Courtney) of Glasgow, Benjamin Wood (Alexis) of Bowling Green, Bradley Wood (Jenn) of Bowling Green, Lisa Thomason (Charlie) of Lucas, Brandon Wood (Lynsey) of Glasgow, Blake Wood (Fahrie) of Bowling Green, Cora Clifford (Nathaniel) of Horse Cave, Cody Furlong (Jessi) of Glasgow, and Colton Furlong (Hope) of Glasgow; 19 great grandchildren, Kristian Miller, Kelby Brown, Ella Wood, Kenzie Wood, Kaylee Wood, Ezra Wood, Link Wood, Brida Wood, Abram Thomason, Silas Thomason, Jonah Clifford, Madi Swayne, Lucien Furlong, Kinley Furlong, Ryker Furlong, Calliope Furlong, Baby boy Furlong, Isaiah Reynolds, and Eli Walden; one niece, Geraldine (Ranes) Tarry (James).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years, Diana Faye Wood; stepmother, Irene Hood Wood; two sisters, Louise Wood and Christine Wood Ranes; one nephew, Raymond Lester Ranes; one grandbaby and great grandbaby.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 16th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Park City. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, and Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
