George Clifton Compton,89, of Glasgow passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was retired from General Electric and served honorably for the Marines during the Korean War.
George (Clifton) is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Compton, son Terry Compton, mother, Mary Virginia Compton and sister, Virginia Eubank.
He is survived by his loving children, Harold Compton (Kelly), Rebecca Inghram (Doug), and longtime caretaker and second wife, Betty Bailey Compton; grandchildren, Ryan Compton (Samantha), Cole Compton, and Taylor Luckett (Adam); great-grandchildren, Cole Jr. and Brooklyn Compton, and Baker Luckett; sister, Bernice Smith and many other loving family members whom called him Grandpa.
His celebration of life service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, May 14th at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military honors provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Barren County. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00am until time for service at the funeral home. A.F.
