Donald Wilson Cowles, age 78, of Chalybeate, departed this life Thursday, April 21, 2022 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born July 15, 1943, to the late Larmie and Norma Wilson Cowles. He was married to his helpmate and best friend of fifty seven years, Barbara Kaye Cowles.
Donald was a barber by trade for over forty years, and was fortunate enough to work along side his brother, Ronald. Together, they owned Cowles Barber Shop, where lots of friends and memories were made. He was also a member of the Kentucky Colonels. Donald was a faithful member of Chalybeate United Baptist Church.
Besides his wife he leaves to honor his memory– his children Cynthia McDougle (Anthony), Tammy Thien, and Brian Cowles (Kim) all of Chalybeate, four grandchildren, Heather White (Kyle), Drew McDougle (Mandee), Taylor Carroll (Chad) and Evan Cowles; seven great-grandchildren, Dalton Carroll, Thomas Carroll, Knox White, Allie Decker, Lexi Decker, Honor White and Abel Carroll; three brothers, Kenneth Cowles (Linda), Ronald Cowles (Opal) and Terry Cowles (Darlene). Beside his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Billy Ray and Jimmy Cowles, and two sisters, Opal Grimes and Barbara Hines.

Interment will be in the Kinser Cemetery.
