Two Glasgow residents were transported to TJ Samson Hospital for evaluation after a 2-vehicle accident Monday at the Intersection of Lexington Drive and 31-E North. Crystal L. Davis, 26, was traveling south on 31-E North when she stated that she thought she could make the traffic light before it turned red. Davis said she tried to stop at the last minute, but could not stop in time to avoid striking a westbound vehicle pulling out of Lexington Dr. driven by 37-year-old John Chmiel. Chmiel did have a green light. Upon evaluation at TJ Samson Hospital,, no injuries were found on either driver. A passenger in the Chmiel vehicle, 29-year-old Nathan Miller of Glasgow, was not injured. Both drivers and the passenger were wearing seatbelts. Chmiel was charged with failure of nonowner operator to maintain liability insurance. Officer Kirkpatrick had witnessed the accident. Officer McGuire also investigated.
