James “Rooster” Davidson age 77 of Burkesville died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Cumberland County Hospital.  He was a longtime oil and gas drilling contractor in Kentucky and Tennessee.  

He is survived by two sons, Michael Davidson and wife Mary and David Lynn Davidson all of Burkesville; three brothers, Billy Davidson and wife Charlotte, Charles Davidson and Johnny Davidson and wife Cheryl all of Burkesville; three sisters Cookie Reliford, Juanita Willis and husband Floyd and Linda Long and husband Stevie all of Burkesville; step-mother Dorothy “Dot” Davidson; two grandchildren, Chris Davidson and wife Rachel and Curtis Davidson and wife Heather all of Burkesville; sister in law, Trannie Riddle and husband Troy of Burkesville and  four great grandchildren, Annie Davidson of Burkesville, Landon Davidson of Frankfort, Indiana, Rose Davidson of Glasgow, Ashton Davidson of Burkesville and two step-grandchildren, Michael Chambers of Marrowbone and Tyler Riley of Burkesville. 

Funeral services for James “Rooster” Davidson will be held at 11am Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Ballou and Stotts Funeral Home with burial in the Long Cemetery.  Visitation after 4pm Wednesday.
