April 1, 1991 – Construction begins on the third lane for Happy Valley Road. Completion is hoped for in the late fall of ’91.

April 2, 1991 – Outgoing FFA President Brad Turner was presented the Star Farmer Award at the banquet.

April 3, 1991 – Glasgow Scotties, with pitcher Brandon Kerney , knocked off Edmonson County 10-3. Kerney also connected with a two run homer in the 6th inning and Jason Alexander followed with a grand slam in the 7th.

April 5, 1991 – Social activities have begun for Senior Citizens in the Mt. Herman Community. Recently Ray Anderson, Joe Shaw, Johnny Jones and Harold Strode presented a spoof of “Hee Haw” for the community’s entertainment.

April 7, 1991 – AD – The Bacon Copass Body Shop is now open at 3199 Burkesville Road. Owners are Rollin Bacon and Dale Copass.

April 7, 1991 -  A cellular service signal is about to be turned on in South Central Kentucky and Glasgow. Local SCRTC ad urges the public to buy their phones now.

April 9, 1991 – A reception was held Monday afternoon honoring Dr. Carolyn McKinley for her work as chairman of the Barren County Board of Health.

April 10, 1991 – A devastating storm hit the Glasgow area Tuesday afternoon, causing heavy damage to Preston Ropp Chevrolet and Davis Fruit Market, The Animal Clinic, and Back Stage Music, all located on W. Main Street. Damage was also reported on the Edmonton Road.
April 11, 1991 – Clyde T Harlow is elected the new President of the local chapter of TPA.

April 14, 1991 – 50th Wedding Anniversaries are celebrated by Misters and Mrssrs. Jimmie Gibbs, Robert Warner, Harry Elmore and the 60th wedding anniversary is celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. Benton Littrell.

April 17, 1991 – Altrusa Club celebrates its 74th birthday. The Glasgow club was organized in 1975 with Golda Walbert as President.

Taco Bell opens in Glasgow. Marty Kinslow is the manager.

April 18, 1991 – Southern Optical opens at 205 Barren River Plaza.

April 23, 1991 – Glasgow Lady Scotties are the 1991 SKAC Champions.

April 24, 1991 – A new 100 bed nursing home has been approved next door to Caverna Hospital in Horse Cave.

Dumas Walker died at age 75 in Moss, TN.

April 26, 1991 – Richard Shipley and sons are now the owners of Fox Hollow Golf Club.

April 28, 1991 – Dr. William J. Travis has opened his office for the practice of internal medicine.

Ribbon cutting is held at Andrea’s Dress Shop in Southgate Plaza. Andi Amos is the owner.

April 30, 1991 – Bill James is the new Glasgow Barren County Chamber President.

Winners of the best ball tournament at Fox Hollow Golf Club were David Simmons and Steve Peden, first place and Mark Daniel and Scott Martin, second place.
