LeRoy Underwood, 100, formerly of Glasgow, died Monday, April 4, 2011, in Lexington.  A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Flem Christopher Underwood and Ora Duvall Underwood.  He was a retired teacher with Glasgow City Schools and a retired mail carrier with the U. S. Postal Service.  He was a member of Rotary International and a member of First Christian Church, where he had also served as Elder.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Forrest Burton, Chris Burton, Jennifer Moss and Amy Burton along with their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Vance Underwood; his daughter, Alice Burton; his brother, Rollin Underwood.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church of Glasgow with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.  Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Bluegrass Development Office, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504
