BARREN CIRCUIT COURT:

Guilty pleas:

 

*ERNEST WAYNE HORTON (AGE 46) of Cave City, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, to the charges of ASSAULT UNDER EXTREME EMOTIONAL DISTURBANCE.  The Commonwealth recommended a five (5) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for April 18, 2011.

 

*ASHLEY N. HOUCHENS (AGE 24) of Gamaliel, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, to the charges of  POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-1ST DEGREE (METHAMPHETAMINE), THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING UNDER $500 and CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PRESCRIPTION NOT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER.  The Commonwealth recommended a three (3) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for April 18, 2011.

 

MICHAEL CLAYTON LOWE (AGE 36) of Smiths Grove, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, to the charges of POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.  The Commonwealth recommended a twelve (12) month sentence.

The Court went forward with sentencing at that time and sentenced the defendant to twelve months and then granted the request for probation.

 

*MICHELLE LYNN MORGAN (AGE 39) of Canmer, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, to the charges of THEFT OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE UNDER $300 (HYDROCODONE). The Commonwealth recommended a three (3) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for April 18, 2011.

 

*JAMES S. PAYNE (AGE 57) of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, to the charges of POSSESSION OF MATTER PORTRAYING A SEXUAL PERFORMANCE BY A MINOR-4 COUNTS.  The Commonwealth recommended a seven (7) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for April 25, 2011.

 

MARTIN D. PAYNE (AGE 43) of Smiths Grove, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, to the charges of POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.  The Commonwealth recommended a twelve (12) month sentence.  The Court went forward with sentencing at that time and sentenced the defendant to twelve months and then granted the request for probation.

 

JENNIFER WILSON (AGE 35) of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, to the charges of UNLAWFUL DISTRIBUTION OF A METHAMPHETAMINE PRECURSOR.  The Commonwealth recommended a two (2) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for April 18, 2011.

 

*ANTHONY YOUNG (AGE 51) of Knob Lick, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, in 2 separate cases, to the charges of POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-1ST DEGREE (COCAINE), LICENSE TO BE IN POSSESSION, CARELESS DRIVING,  POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-1ST DEGREE (OXYCODONE), TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-3RD DEGREE (ALPRAZOLAM), CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PRESCRIPTION NOT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, FAILURE TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE, NO REGISTRATION PLATES, EXPIRED REGISTRATION RECEIPT and FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD.  The Commonwealth recommended a three (3) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for April 25, 2011.

 

*CHARECE ROCHELLE HASKINS (AGE 34) of Cave City Grove, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court, on Monday, March 21, 2011, to the charges of RECKLESS HOMICIDE, OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE-1ST OFFENSE, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, NO OPERATOR’S LICENSE, POSSEESSION OF OPEN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTAINER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE and PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER-2ND OFFENSE.  The Commonwealth recommended a ten (10) year sentence.  Formal sentencing by the court is set for April 25, 2011. This matter was investigated by the Glasgow Police Department and arose from events of August 1, 2008, when Ms. Haskins operated a vehicle with a .15 blood alcohol level and had a wreck which caused her passenger, Harley Turner, to sustain multiple injuries which resulted in his death.
