Calls into the Barren County Sheriff’s Office yesterday (Thurs) regarding burglaries and stolen property from residents and a business in northern and western Barren County led to the arrest of a Cave City man.

28-year-old Aaron K. Wright was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, three counts of third-degree burglary, six counts of theft by unlawful taking under $500, theft by unlawful taking over $500, second-degree criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana.

Further investigation by deputies and detectives with the BCSO revealed Wright broke into several vehicles and garages on Furlong Road and James Road. He also broke into a residence on Park City Bon Ayr Road and a business on Mammoth Cave Road.

The gasoline powered vehicle Wright was driving quit working due to stolen diesel fuel he filled it with. Deputy Steve Runyon found him stalled in a driveway on James Road.
Bolt cutters and a lockout kit were found in Wright’s vehicle along with several stolen items that were recovered. Wright admitted to the thefts and burglaries and was lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center.
Deputy Runyon was assisted by Detectives Rusty Anderson and Ann Phelps.
