Due to a scheduling conflict the Memorial Service at the Cave City Cemetery will be, today at 2PM.  DAV Chapter 20 will be leading the service.

Memorial Day Outdoor Gospel Singing featuring The Golden Keys and other Cave City local talent will be in downtown Cave City, tonight at 7PM. In case of rain the event will be held at the Wigwam Full Gospel Church on Broadway.

The Liberty District Usher Unit will be having a fish fry, this Saturday, May 23 at 11AM on the corner of Bunche and Lewis Street.

Glasgow Athletics Program will have a $5 all you can eat Pancake Breakfast this Saturday, May 23 from 7:30AMto 9:30AM at Applebee’s in Glasgow. This is a fundraiser with matching funds from Modern Woodmen. All proceeds go to the Glasgow Athletics Program and its participants. For more information call 670-4539.

The office of Joanne London, Barren County Court Clerk will be closed this Saturday through this Monday, May 25 in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.  Normal Business will resume this Tuesday, May 26th at 8am.

Glasgow City Hall will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. Monday’s Garbage and recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, May 26. The Glasgow Landfill will be closed and there will be no bus service that day.

The Barren County Courthouse will be closed Monday, May 25 for the State Observed Memorial Day Holiday.

The Barren County Child Support Office will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Gerald Fisher, author of the acclaimed book "Guerilla Activity in Kentucky" will be the speaker on Thursday, May 26 at 6PM at the Mary Wood Weldon Library for the Barren County Historical Society Meeting. Mr. Fisher will be sharing stories about Quantrill, Billy Magruder, Bill Marion, Bill Davison and Isaiah "Big Zay" Coulter and others who spent more time in this area.  He will possibly be attired in uniform and will bring non-working replicas of many of the weapons used. Fisher will have a book signing at 5:30 pm before the meeting. The public is invited; there is no charge.

You’re invited to join Crossroads Life Center in honoring the Outgoing Board Chairman, Tracy Haddix on Tuesday, May 26 from 5:30PM to 7PM at the T J Pavilion Community Center.  Tracy’s leadership has guided the center through many milestones and has secured the name and mission that is flourishing today.  A presentation will be held at 5:30 followed by food and fellowship.

The BCHS Cheerleaders will be hosting the Trojan Cheer Electric Color Run (5K), Saturday, May 30 at 8PM. Registration will begin at 7:15PM. Race starts and ends at the Trojan Football Field. All participants are encouraged to show their colors! We will have glow in the dark body paint and other glow supplies with lots of beautiful color for sale as well! The American Red Cross will have a blood drive, Wednesday, June 3 from 11AM to 3PM at T. J. Samson Health Pavilion.

Glasgow Renaissance- Main Street 4th Annual Cruise In will be Saturday, June 6 from 12PM to 4PM on the Glasgow Public Square. Registration begins at 12noon at the Gazebo.  There is no entry fee but donations will be accepted to go toward a speaker system for the back parking lot.

Star and Stripes Beauty Pageant will be July 3 at the Bonnieville Elementary School at 5pm.   You may pre-register at 5pm. For more information call Joel Attebery at 270-528-6485.  Concession will be available.

There will be a Global Fest Meeting every 4th Thursday of each month at the Bunch Center beginning at 5:30PM.  Everyone is invited. Volunteers are needed to plan new events for the festival.

Harvest of History 2015 will be September 18 and September 19.  Seven individuals from our local history will be portrayed.  Historic characters from an inventor, an athlete, an early newspaper owner will be portrayed to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the Glasgow Daily times, a young wife and mother of the 1870’s, a WWI Soldier, an inspirational teacher and a tale of a natural disaster.
