Margaret Shipley Steenbergen, 85, of Scottsville, KY died at 4:56 a.m. Sunday at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.   The Scottsville, KY native was a homemaker, former head start teacher, former cook for ACSH and former clerk for Doug and Macks and Gibsons.  She was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where she formerly served as pianist and Sunday School teacher.   She was a daughter of the late Charles Franklin Shipley and Lucy Alice Spencer Shipley.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years:  Harold D. Steenbergen, Scottsville, KY;

1 daughter:  Jan Centers and husband, Larry, Scottsville, KY;

2 grandchildren:  Casey Williams and Cole Williams, both of Scottsville, KY;

2 step grandchildren:  Jeff Centers and wife, Joanie and Jeremy Center and wife, Heather, all of Scottsville, KY and

Several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers:  John William Shipley, James Shipley and Glen Shipley and 3 sisters:  Margie Carver, Evelyn Fisher and Mary Elizabeth Hogue.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Hogue and Bro. Robby Calvert officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.   Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home.
