Flossie Elmore Kersey, 95 of Louisville, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, in Louisville. The Edmonson County native was born April 21, 1919 to the late Zollie Thomas Elmore and the late Clarise Rebecca Elmore and was the wife of the late Garnet Kersey.

She was retired from Seagram’s Distillery, a member of the Eastern Star and was a charter member of Wingfield United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Bridget Sue Wentling of Louisville, KY; one brother, Parker Elmore of Bee Spring, KY; two grandchildren, Charles Wentling and Sarah Wentling, both of Louisville, KY; one great grandchild, Angel Wentling of Louisville, KY; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one son, Danna Steven Kersey; five brothers, David, Lennie, Clem, Mitch, and Lee Elmore and two sisters, Ory Hawks and Glency Basham.

Funeral service will be at 11am Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Wingfield United Baptist Church with burial in the Ollie Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11am – 8pm Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel and 9am – 11am Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Wingfield United Baptist Church.

Donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
