The Glasgow City Council will have a regular meeting tonight at 7:00 pm in the City Hall Chambers.  Included on the agenda is a presentation by Krissie Coe Fields in regard to the Glasgow Dog Park.  I spoke with Fields and she said she has wanted this in Glasgow for a long time:

The group just filed its articles of incorporation and are now officially a non-profit group entitled, ‘Friends of Glasgow Dog Park’.  While the city may be donating the land in Weldon Park for the group, the park will not cost the taxpayers any money at all.  100% of the construction will be provided by private funds.  Fields says there is so much the community can do to help.  While monetary donations will be accepted, Fields says it doesn’t have to be:

Fields says that there will be work sessions and events at the Park once construction is complete.  Fields also hopes this will help those dogs who may have socialization issues and there will sections for small and large dogs alike.
