The BCHS Army JROTC Marksmanship Teams Alpha and Bravo have been very busy this year! In these last few weeks of school, the teams have hosted and participated in the Barren County High School 2014 2nd Annual Trojan Battalion Air Rifle Postal Match sponsored by American Legion Post #28. The following schools participated, with their respected placing: Barren County High School Trojan Team A (1st Place Team), Allen County Scottsville High School (2nd Place Team), Barren County High School Trojan Team B (3rd Place Team), and Warren Central High School (4th Place Team).

Barren County High School Trojan Team A is Cadet Major McKayla Humphrey, Cadet Major Matthew Brown, Cadet Major Jacob Sherfey, Cadet First Lieutenant Cassie Gray, and Cadet Major Hunter Pursley. They placed first in team competition!

Barren County High School Trojan Team B is Cadet Sergeant Cody Blakely, Cadet Sergeant Taylor Goldsmith, Cadet Command Sergeant Major Thomas Harper, Cadet Sergeant Vincent Parker and Cadet CPL Garrett Heath. They placed third in team competition!

Cadet First Lieutenant Cassie Gray won first in individual, Cadet Major McKayla Humphrey won second in individual and Cadet Major Jacob Sherfey won third in individual. These cadets had success in shooting from the prone, kneeling and standing position.

The BCHS JROTC JROTC Program received a grant from the NRA Foundation in the amount of $2,258.33.  Funds were used to purchase additional equipment for the marksmanship program.

The Trojan Battalion is grateful for the support of American Legion Post #28 in this year’s postal match. Congratulations to all participants!
