On Sunday afternoon, Kentucky State Police Post 3 received the report of a single vehicle injury collision, southbound on I-65, near the 65.5 mile marker, in the construction zone.

The preliminary investigation by Trooper Wesley Medley indicates that 20 year old  Matthew T. Wright of Columbia, TN was traveling southbound in a 2007 Dodge Dakota, when he briefly fell asleep at the wheel. Upon waking up, Wright overcorrected which caused his vehicle to veer across both southbound lanes. The vehicle then struck the end of a concrete barrier and traveled through a break in the concrete median wall, which allows access for construction vehicles. The vehicle's left side then dropped down approximately 1 foot off of the newly paved surface, onto a gravel bed, and overturned.

Matthew T. Wright and his passenger 19 year old Brandi C. Duke also of Columbia, TN were transported to Caverna Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Trooper Wesley Medley is investigating this collision and he was assisted on scene by the Munfordville Police Dept., Hart County EMS and the Munfordville Fire Dept.

On Wednesday Kentucky State Police Post 3 with assistance from the ATF/BGFD Arson Task Force executed a Search Warrant at a residence located at 200 Cedar Road, 3 miles east of Brownsville, KY.

A total of 22 weapons were seized including hand guns, shotguns, assault rifles, a 40mm M203 Grenade Launcher, several thousand rounds of ammunition and $6,850.00 cash.

Detective Terry Scott arrested 52 year old David Kevin Ring, charging him with POSSESSION OF A HANDGUN BY A CONVICTED FELON, TRAFFICKING IN MARIJUANA, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA and POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.  Ring was lodged in the Hart County Jail
