COMMUNITY GARDEN PROJECT BEGINS ON MONDAY IN CAVE CITY PDF Print

What was once seen as a lofty goal, will soon become a reality in Cave City.

A partnership between the City of Cave City, the Housing Authority and the residents of E.P. Terry Estates will come together Monday morning to begin construction of new planter boxes that will be used by the residents.  While folks may plant flowers in their boxes, they are also able to plant vegetables which will help combat ever increasing food prices and increases food security.

Cave City Community Development Director Cami Bush said community gardens have always been a passion for her and she recognizes the positive impact programs like this have not only for residents, but also for the community as a whole.  Bush added that she has been thrilled with the interest people have shown and the willingness to help.

Construction will begin this Monday morning at 9:30 at E.P. Terry Estates in Cave City and the more volunteers the better.  Bush assures that you do not have to be a professional carpenter to help and she will even throw in lunch.

Anyone who is interested in helping or learning more about the project, stop by E.P. Terry Estates in Cave City Monday morning at 9:30am.  If you have any questions feel free to call Cami Bush, Community Development Director of Cave City, at 270-612-0434.
