Glasgow Firefighters on scene of Saturday house fire for over 3 ½ hours.

The Glasgow Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on Garmon Avenue, just before 5:00pm Saturday afternoon.  Upon arrival Firefighters found a single family dwelling with smoke issuing from the attic vents and eaves. FF’s

Firefighters were hampered in their efforts to gain entry to the structure and extinguish the fire, due to a large amount of personal items stored in the house. The fire was able to be contained to the attic and a small area on the ground floor, but there was smoke and water damage throughout the structure. Firefighters were on the scene for over 3 ½ hours due to the large amount of overhaul required to dig out the seat of the fire.

 

There were no injuries reported at the scene.
