Sunday, 06 April 2014 11:01

The Glasgow Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 411 Garmon Ave. on Saturday April 05, 2014 at 4:42 pm. Upon arrival FF’s found a single family dwelling with smoke issuing from the attic vents and eaves. FF’s were hampered in their efforts to gain entry to the structure and extinguish the fire, due to a large amount of personal items stored in the house. FF’s were able to contain the fire to the attic and a small area on the ground floor, but there was smoke and water damage throughout the structure. FF’s were on the scene for over 3 ½ hours due to the large amount of overhaul required to dig out the seat of the fire. There were no injuries reported at the scene.
