GLASGOW POLICE MAKE SEVERAL ARRESTS PDF Print

On Tuesday, Officer Houchens with the GPD, responded to Newman Street in Glasgow to answer a complaint of a convicted felon being in possession of a hand gun.  Upon arrival, Officers made contact with 28 year old Nick Franklin who was inside the residence.  Officers did find a loaded semi-automatic handgun in a dresser drawer inside a bedroom Franklin admitted was occupied by him and his girlfriend.  Franklin was arrested and has been charged with POSSESSION OF A HANDGUN BY A CONVICTED FELON.

 

Also on Tuesday, Officers responded to Puerto Vallarta in Glasgow in reference to the report of an individual who had gotten into an argument with staff and had brandished a handgun and pointed it at several people.  While in route, Officers were advised that 59 year old Anthony Shoultz of Glasgow had left the scene in a black Toyota and was turning onto Veterans Outer Loop.  Officers located Shoultz and conducted a traffic stop.  Officers stated Shoultz was unsteady on his feet and refused a breathalyzer and a 9mm handgun was found inside his vehicle.

Shoultz was arrested and has been charged with WANTON ENDANGERMENT 1ST DEGREE and OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE 1ST OFFENSE.

 

 

On Wednesday afternoon, Officer Fields with the Glasgow Police Department responded to Wal-Mart in reference to an individual purchasing meth precursors.  Witness advised Officer Fields that the subject had left the scene in a 1998 white Nissan.  Officer Fields located the vehicle and began to question both occupants, 20 year old Jacob Seth Carter and 20 year old Leon Lloyd Batey both of Glasgow.

Officers found multiple ingredients used to manufacture methamphetamine.  Both Carter and Batey were arrested and have been charged with:  ATTEMPT TO MANUFACTURE METHAMPHETAMINE 1ST OFFENSE, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A METH PRECURSOR and UNLAWFUL DISTRIBUTION OF A METH PRECURSOR.

Carter faces an additional charge of ASSAULT 3RD DEGREE ON A POLICE OFFICER.  When Officers asked Carter if he had any weapons on his person he stated no, but had a knife concealed, point up, in his left front pocked and an Officer was injured by the knife.
