KNOW THE RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY BEFORE YOU BUY PDF Print
Thursday, 26 December 2013 05:23

Each year, Better Business Bureau receives calls after the holidays from upset consumers who are stuck with items they cannot return.

Remember, returns are not law, they are store policy.  Check the store’s return/exchange policy before making a purchase.  Intimate apparel isn’t usually accepted for returns, due to health regulations.  Some stores charge a restocking fee on high-dollar electronics that still work, but the package has been opened. So, if you think you may change your mind, wait to open the package until you know for sure. If you make a purchase under a written contract, the contract will provide conditions for return.  Be sure to read the contract carefully before making the purchase.

Also remember, lines are usually longer in the morning, when the store opens. Go to the store later in the day to return items and avoid long lines.

Today is Yvonne Norris Bartley Day!  Retiring from Barren County Schools after 31 years.
