Jack London would like to take this opportunity to announce his candidacy for Barren County Magistrate, District 4.  Jack and his wife Katherine are residents of the Hiseville community.  They have been blessed with three children:  Randy and wife Teresa, Gary and wife Dee Dee, Faye and husband Steve Holley along with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Jack and his sons have operated a family farm since 1955.  Jack and his wife are active members of Coral Hill Church of Christ.  He is a former member of the Rotary Club and a Paul Harris fellow.

In seeking the position for Magistrate of District 4, under the Republican ticket Jack is committed to serving those in District 4 through hard, honest work.  With a personal knowledge of farm life and agriculture, Jack is a supporter of agritourism and the purchasing of locally grown and made products.  He is also committed to the maintenance of county roads.  Jack possesses a strong mind for business having been in the banking business for over 50 years.  Jack is dedicated to keeping taxes as low as possible and performing all other duties required of him if elected to this position.

Along with an extensive career in banking, Jack has worked hand-in-hand with the community to help preserve Barren County’s natural resources.  Jack believes that God has given us not only the air to breathe but the water to drink as a gift and he strives to see that both of those vital resources are well maintained.  He is chairman for the Green River Valley Water District where his duties include maintaining budgets as well as hiring personnel.

 

Jack would like to commend Tommy Matthews on a job well done and also wish him improving health in the future.  Tommy served the citizens of District 4 well during his time as Magistrate.  Jack stated, “I feel my experience in agriculture, business, community organizations and community service qualify me for the position as your Magistrate of District 4.  I would appreciate your support and your vote.  I look forward to the opportunity of giving back to the community I have always called home”.
