According to Julie Anne Williams, Public Affairs Officer with the Glasgow Police Department:

On Thursday night, Glasgow Police Department Officers responded to the Walgreens in Glasgow due to a report of two white males attempting to buy Sudafed after they had been refused sale earlier in the day.  Upon arrival officers made contact with 22 year old Shawn T. Nuckols of Tompkinsville Road in Glasgow.  Officers confronted Nuckols and asked he clean out his pockets.  Officers found a bag of suspected methamphetamine.

Outside, officers approached the vehicle Nuckols’ vehicle and made contact with the driver 26 year old Matthew Kinslow of Beechtree Lane in Glasgow and the passenger 21 year old Ashley Stratton of Old Bowling Green Road in Smith’s Grove.  Upon search of the vehicle officers found several items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.  No one involved was willing to admit ownership of the items.

Officers arrested Nuckols and he has been charged with POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE and UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A METH PRECURSOR.  Stratton and Kinslow and both have been charged with MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE.


All three were taken to the Barren County Correctional Center.  Officers were called back to the BCCC by Jail Deputies in reference to items found during the search of Kinslow and Nuckols.  Upon search by Jail Deputies, both subjects were found to have concealed suspected methamphetamine between their buttocks.  Kinslow and Nuckols have both received two additional charges PROMOTING CONTRABAND and POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 3RD DEGREE.
