Charles Wayne Poynter, 65, Cave City, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013, at TJ Samson Hospital.  The Barren County native was the son of the late William Jr. and Lydia Doyle Poynter.  He was a member of Servant Valley Baptist Church and was in the National Guard Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Denise Wheeler, Glasgow; a son, Charles Howard "Chuck" Poynter, Cave City; two brothers, Billy Joe Poynter, Lawrenceburg, Steven Poynter, Hazard; a granddaughter, Kelsey Reed Wheeler, Glasgow; an aunt, Marie Coats, Cave City and a special friend Susan Foist, Cave City.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Saturday at Servant Valley Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel will be from 4 to 8 PM Friday and after 9 AM Saturday at the church.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made in donations to help with funeral expenses the family has requested that donations be made to the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, PO Box 457, Cave City, KY 42127.
