The Glasgow School Board met last night at Highland Elementary School for their regular monthly meeting.  To lead off the meeting, the Board presented James Danny Wilson a Veteran’s Diploma in honor of Veteran’s Day.  Next on the agenda was the Security and Camera System at Glasgow High School.  Glasgow Independent Schools Technology Coordinator, Anthony Gilbert, had the system pulled up on the screen for board members to see as he explained features and showed real time camera footage.  This system allows for clear zooming, autofocus and cameras are not fixed to one spot but can be panned to cover a larger surveillance area.  Issues and problems regarding the system and system failures due to power outages, have continued to come up and the board asked how these issues have been addressed.  Gilbert said this:

Due to the warranty taking effect when the system is deemed operational and taking into account the numerous problems they have had, Dr. Barret Lessenberry, Board Member, asked about the warranty for the system. A representative with Shrout Tate Engineering gave this response:

No Flash Player detected

The board was assured that staff would be trained with the new system and they would continue to try and implement a notification system for the cameras.
