According to Cave City Police Chief Jeff Wright. On Saturday Officer Terrill Riley responded to a possible fight in progress on Grinstead Mill Road, in Cave City.  Upon arrival Officer Riley saw the two subjects, 30 year old Joseph G. Johnson of Cave City and 23 year old Joshua D. Rice of Horse Cave, in a heated argument in the middle of the roadway.  When Officer Riley attempted to separate the two subjects, Johnson began to assault Rice.

 

Johnson and Rice were both arrested and charged with ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT.  Additionally, Johnson faces charges of ASSAULT 4TH DEGREE. Both men were taken to the Barren county Detention Center.

Officer Riley was assisted at the scene by Barren

County Sheriff Deputies Adam Bow and Jimmy Pedigo.
