After a thorough sweep of the building and grounds at Austin Tracy Elementary School by the Barren County Sheriff’s Department and school officials, an “all clear” has been given.   Students will return from their safe location back to school and normal activities will resume.  A non-specific threatening message was discovered on a restroom wall. As a precautionary procedure, law enforcement and school officials investigated to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Superintendent Bo Matthews would like to thank the Barren County Sheriff’s Department and Officer B. J. Eaton for taking the lead on searching the building.  He also commends Austin Tracy Principal Brian Clifford on his quick response in notifying district administrators of the potential threat.  “The safety of the staff and students of all Barren County Schools remains our number one priority and the cooperation of this community helps us make that happen. “

At approximately 9:50 a.m. this morning we received notification from Principal Brian Clifford at Austin Tracy Elementary School that a non-specific threat was found. Austin Tracy students have been evacuated to a safe location while the Barren County Sheriff’s department and school administrators do a complete sweep of the building. Once an all clear is given, activities will resume as normal.
