Hermon Poynter age 81 of the Savoyard community of Metcalfe County died Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home.   He was the son of the late David and Gertie Ferguson Poynter.  He was a retired farmer and lifetime member of the Savoyard Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Caroline England Poynter.   One sister Lizzie Poynter Crawford of Mayfield, Kentucky.   One sister in law Flossie England Chaney of Savoyard.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers.  Hermon will be remembered as a great caretaker of his pets.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM  Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Buck Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
