BARREN COUNTY ADDS A NEW VOTING PRECINCT; OTHER FISCAL COURT ACTION PDF Print

Barren County will add a new, 25th voting precinct.  In order to validate the 2011 District Re-Apportionments, one boundary issue had to be resolved in District 1, that of Magistrate John Benningfield.  The voters affected by the change will be around the Fox Hollow area, but will still vote at Lera B. Mitchell Clubhouse.  The only change is that the building will be host to two precincts, much like several others in the county.

In other items of the Fiscal Court, Charles Kerney reported that the Fall Ball program has been a success, not only from a youth activities standpoint, but also from a money standpoint as the program profited approximately $2,300 from concessions, gate fees, and registration.

The County will look to codify it’s ordinances through an archive grant through the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives.  For no more than $1,500 expense to the county, the entire history of Barren County’s ordinance will be archived digitally and be published on the internet for public access.  The court unanimously approved to apply for the grant.
