Recently appointed Barren County Sheriff Kent Keen announced this morning that he does plan to run for Barren County Sheriff in 2014.  Keen spent 20 years with the Glasgow Police Department and has attended numerous training courses, including the FBI National Academy.

Sheriff Keen also announced the Barren County Sheriff’s Department has a new app that is currently available for download on Android phones and coming in the next couple of weeks to Apple products.  This communication tool will help the Sheriff’s Office broadcast news and emergency information to the Barren County community instantly.

Sheriff Keen said not only would this be a tool that would help the community stay connected with Sheriff’s Office, it would also help with crime reporting:
