GREEN MARKET CELEBRATES 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PDF Print
Friday, 27 September 2013 07:58

Just off the Glasgow square, down North Race Street, there is a completely different type of grocery store.  Over 200 different members invested because they had a desire to make healthier, lower mileage food easily accessible to our area.  A shopper can purchase everything from chicken breast and buffalo steaks to pasta, candy, breads, condiments, dry beans and packaged foods.  The Green Market Co-op is open to the public and boast that their products are whole foods, mostly organic and free trade.  Not sure what all that means?  Stop by the store and they’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.    Along with food items, locally made soaps, lotions, jewelery and ornaments may be purchased.  Stop in this Saturday and help celebrate their 1 year anniversary.  WCLU Radio spoke with the General Manager, Amanda Edmunds:
