GLASGOW POLICE MAKE SEVERAL ARRESTS PDF Print

Last Monday afternoon Glasgow Police Department responded to a report of possible

shoplifting.  In an attempt to search for possible weapons, Officers found several

prescription pills which they allege that 31 year old Philip Lowe of Buck Creek Road

in Smiths Grove, had been attempting to steal.  Low was charged with Presentation of

A Controlled Substance Not In Original Container and two separate counts of

Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree.  Lowe was lodged in the Barren

County Correctional Center.

 

Last Wednesday afternoon an officer with the Glasgow Police Department made traffic

stop on East Cherry Street for failure to wear a seat belt.  The search of the

vehicle yielded a box of pseudoephedrine sulfate, several lithium batteries, and a

corner cut out of a plastic baggie.  The three occupants of the vehicle all had

varying stories on the usage of the items found.  Particular versions indicated they

would be used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.  The Glasgow Police

Department arrested 31 year old Brian Keith Poynter of Green Acres Drive in Cave

City, for Manufacturing Methamphetamine 2nd Offense and Failure To Wear A Seat Belt.

The passenger, 25 year old Tamisha Carter of Hiseville Road in Cave City was also

arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Carter was also charged

with Receiving Stolen after Officers were unable to verify where Carter claims they

were purchased.  Both were transported to the Barren County Correctional Center.

The Glasgow Police Department served a Barren County Arrest warrant on 22 year old

Joseph Corso of South Green Street in Glasgow.  Corso is charged with Assault 4th

Degree and Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree.  He was taken to the Barren County

Correctional Center under a $1500 cash bond.

The Glasgow Police Department responded to a call on Sunday for shoplifting.  Upon

arrival, officers were told Loss Prevention employees had tried to stop the suspect

but she had fled on foot.  Officers quickly located 32 year old Tammy McNew of Old

Stanford Road in Danville, KY attempting to hide in some nearby bushes.  McNew was

arrested and charged with Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree and Shoplifting and was

taken to the Barren County Correctional Center.
