I-65 DETOUR REQUIRED WORK OF LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS; DETOUR IN EFFECT FOR 13 HOURS PDF Print
Tuesday, 27 August 2013 07:04

For over 13 hours yesterday Interstate 65 northbound was shut down between Cave City and Horse Cave due to a tractor trailer accident that required the HazMat team to clean up the truckload of batteries that was being hauled northbound.  At 8:39 last night word came that the interstate was back open to traffic.  A special thank you to the volunteer firemen, law enforcement and other first responders who spent an unplanned day of standing in 90 degree heat keeping detour traffic along highway 70, 31w 218 among others moving at a remarkable pace.  The community thanks you for keeping things moving.
