A notice of appeal was filed in Western District Court by former Sheriff Chris Eaton on Tuesday. The document states that Eaton is appealing the final judgment and also the verdict of the jury where he was found guilty on May 9, 2013 of two counts of witness tampering on a Second Superseding Indictment that was filed on November 14, 2012.

The first indictment was filed on February 15, 2012, two years after numerous officers from the Barren County Sheriff's Office, Glasgow Police Department and the Kentucky State Police were involved in an hour-long pursuit of Billy Randall Stinnett that ended after Stinnett crashed his van into a church.  Eaton was found not guilty on six other counts.

Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr sentenced Eaton to 18 months, on August 1.
