The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident Tuesday near Temple Hill on the Tompkinsville Road that claimed the life of an Edmonton man. James Jacob Matthew Howling, 24, of Edmonton was traveling south on the Tompkinsville Road when he lost control of his 2002 Dodge Neon. Howling could not regain control of the vehicle, and the vehicle went off the roadway before rolling over onto its top. Howling was pronounced dead at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office. Two passengers, John Acre Jr, 15, and Trevor Meadow, 14, both of Edmonton were taken to TJ Samson Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. BCSO was assisted on scene by members of the Temple Hill Fire Department, East Barren Fire Department, and Barren Metcalfe EMS.
