Grady Alvin Hinson, 82 of Bowling Green died Sunday, July 28, 2013. The Lancaster, South Carolina native retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and from the Great Onyx Job Corps after 14 years. He served three tours in Vietnam, three tours in Germany and one tour in Korea. He was a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM and Cove Hollow United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Delores “Faye” Hinson; two daughters: Pamela Peterman of Ft. Walton, Florida and Jeannie Slaughter of Clarksville, Indiana; one son: Grady Byrd of Lexington, South Carolina; one sister: Zelphor Altman of Lancaster, South Carolina; six grandchildren: Jon Singleton, Lara Bell, David Danner, Chuck and Josh Slaughter and Abby Ogden; four great-grandchildren: Chelsea and Savannah Miller, Lily Singleton and Liam Danner and one great-great grandchild: Cherish Brown.

Funeral services for Grady Alvin Hinson will be at 1PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church with burial in the Cove Hollow Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1PM to 8PM Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville Chapel and after 10AM Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the church. Honorable graveside military services will be conducted by Nisbet Alexander VFW.
