An accident on US 31W claims the life of one person. Friday around 6:52pm Hart County Sheriff's office responded to an injury accident located one half mile south of Rowletts on US 31W. Howard Jason Hodges age 34, of Cave City was operating a 2003 Buick passenger car northbound on US 31W. Two passengers in the vehicle, 30 year old Margaret Nicole Williams of Horse Cave and 41 year old, Tracy D. West of Bonnieville. Michael Srygler, age 31 of Horse Cave was operating a 2003 Ford F-250 pickup northbound on US 31W attempting to make a left turn into his driveway. The Hodge's vehicle truck Srygler's vehicle in the rear. Then Hodges vehicle ran off the east side of US 31W traveled back across US 31W and came to final rest after striking a tree. Hodges and Williams were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital by air methods. West was transported to Caverna Memorial Hospital where he was pronouced dead. Srygler was transported to Caverna Memorial Hospital by the Hart County Ambulance Service and treated for possible minor injuries. The accident was investigated by Hart County Sheriff Deputy Lanny Jewell and assisted by Deputy Paul Reynolds, Hart County EMS, Munfordville Volunteer Fire Department, Horse Cave Volunteer Fire Department and Kentucky State Police.
