UPDATE: ALGAE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS ON BARREN RIVER LAKE PDF Print
Tuesday, 23 July 2013 06:57

Last week, the Army Corps of Engineers issued a News Release dedicated to boaters and swimmers at Barren River Lake. There has been a pop-up of algae blooms that produce toxins that can be especially harmful to children, those with illness, and animals. The lake remains open to those who wish to enjoy it, but everyone should be aware that the algae may cause health issues in our bodies.

WCLU spoke with Carlos Lopez from the Army Corps about what we can do to keep ourselves safe if we’ll be in the lake..
