Eddie Preston, 56, of Scottsville, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Medical Center in Scottsville, Kentucky. He was a member of Wards Chapel A.M.E. Church. He was a member of the 1976-1980 Western Kentucky University Football Team and was drafted by the Houston Oilers of the N.F.L.  in 1980. He was an assistant football coach at Bowling Green High School from 1982 to 1993. He was a Head Start Teacher in the Bowling Green School System from 1982 to 1993.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Preston.

Survivors include three sons, Adrian Preston; Lamont Preston and Jarrin Preston all of Scottsville, KY; three daughters, Rakale Walker of Nashville, TN; Londa Walker of Nashville, TN and Kyeesha Preston of Scottsville; 10 grandchildren; his father, Robert Wilkes of Columbia, TN; a brother, Terry Preston of Nashville, TN; three sisters, SaSandra Fitzgerald (Steve) of Nashville, TN; Convonnia Russell (James) of Eaglesville, TN and Rochelle Goodner of Nashville, TN.; his long time companion, Kathy Davidson of Scottsville also survives.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. CST, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Strode Funeral Home on Lois Moore Drive in Scottsville, KY with Rev. Melanie  Samuels-Black and Rev. James Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, Kentucky. Visitations will begin after 3:00 P.M. Friday, July 19, 2013 at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville.
