Last night the Glasgow Board of Education met in regular session at the new central office building. The meeting was about as short and sweet as they get, but a big decision was made.

After months of debate, discussion, and haggling with companies, the Glasgow Board of Education made a decision on who will build their new Band Tower. The two companies with bids were Botts Construction for $23,201 and Coates Construction for $25,206. After a motion made by Wade Stone, the board voted 3 to 2 to accept the bid from Botts Construction.

The board also approved the 2013 Kentucky School Board Association recommended policies and procedures updates, which includes the raising of the High School drop-out age from 16 to 18.

The board will meet again in regular session at their next meeting on August 12th at 6 pm, in the Central Office.
