Glasgow High School Classs of 1943 had their 70th reunion at the Hall Place Bed and Breakfast yesterday morning. Seven members from the class- and two from later classes- got together to reminisce on their formative years.

’43 graduate Edwin Smith told about their now deceased classmate and friend Joe Trabue who they called “Mohawk” after a character in the movie The Last of The Mohicans:

There were plenty of differences from then to now: back then, Glasgow High School stood where the Liberty Street School Apartments are now located and most kids walked to school instead of driving.

Class of ’45 alum, Norma Redford pointed out that there were differences in fashion as well:

The class’ previous reunion was 5 years ago, in 2008. Organizer Margie Kinslow said yesterday’s reunion will probably be their last.

 

Of the 44 graduates in the Glasgow High School class of 1943. 7 attended the reunion while others were either away or deceased.
