Robert Penn Harris, 58 of Glasgow died Tuesday, June 4 at his home in Glasgow. He was a 1972 graduate of Glasgow High School and was retired from the Motorola Company in Austin, Texas. He was an accomplished song writer and musician and was well known for his contribution to the music scene in Glasgow.

He is survived by his mother: Maud Speck Harris of Glasgow; two sisters: Linda Armstrong and husband M.D. of Glasgow and Bonita Downey of Ft. Myers, Florida; one brother: Joe Harris and wife Sheila of Glasgow; his nieces and nephews: Amber Hatton, Brandy Lawson and Ali and Aaron Armstrong and his pet dog: Pacquito.

A private family memorial service will be held for Robert Penn Harris with burial of his cremains in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Barren River Animal Welfare Association or the Plaza Theatre.

A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
