Velma Louise Parker Houchens 78 of Glasgow died Monday, June 3, 2013 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.  The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Sydney Edgar Witcher and Estella Isabell Tarry Witcher.  Louise was a former employee of Kentucky Pants Co. and Carhart and was a member of the Shiloh General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son Ray Jewell Parker (Dorthy) of Park City; a brother Edgar Thomas Witcher (Nancy) of Smiths Grove; a sister Lucy Jewell Lindsey of Glasgow; 6 grandchildren Tommy Lee Slagle (Kelly), Chad Parker, Edgar Slagle (Robin), Bradley Parker, James Slagle (Brenda) and Jeanetta Lee Jones (Donnie); 14 great grandchildren; a son-in-law Tommy Slagle of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Mitchell Houchens and a daughter Linda Slagle.

Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, June 6th, 2013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11am Wednesday
