On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 4:09 pm, Kentucky State Police Post 3 received a report of a single vehicle injury collision, at the 57 mile marker on I-65, involving a motorcycle.

Don L. Johnson (60) of Indianapolis, IN, was traveling southbound on his 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The rear tire lost traction, which caused the motorcycle to become unstable due to the surface of the roadway being wet and slick due to recent rainfall.  Mr. Johnson lost control of the motorcycle and it traveled off of the right hand side of the roadway. The motorcycle continued through a ditch, overturned and then struck a rock wall.

Mr. Johnson was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and was transported to the T.J. Samson Community Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Trooper Wesley Medley is leading the investigation and was assisted on scene by Hart County EMS, Horse Cave Fire Dept., Alvey’s Towing and Scotty’s Construction.
