A date for sentencing of one of the key witnesses for the government in the trial of 3 Barren County Law Enforcement officers has been set.  Adam Minor’s sentencing date has been scheduled for August 1 at 9am in U S District Court in Bowling Green.  Minor had been indicted along with Sheriff Chris Eaton, Deputy Aaron Bennett and Drug Task Force Officer Eric Guffey on February 15, 2012 on charges of Deprivaton of Rights Under Color of Law while arresting Billy Randall Stinnett on February 24, 2010..  Minor chose to plead guilty to lesser charges in exchange for his testimony for the government.

An order for Minor was released Wednesday and the document states that not less than 20 days prior to the sentencing hearing, the parties shall communicate with each other to discuss the scope of the sentencing hearing and make certain disclosures.  While being questioned by the defense, during the trial  Minor had testified in court earlier this month that his plea agreement with the government was a sentence of between zero and  six months .

Minor's sentencing date was initially scheduled for July 31 of last year but since his co-defendants trial was postponed the government felt it was in the best interest of justice to postpone his sentencing as well.

Bennett and Guffey were found not guilty on all charges and Sheriff Eaton was found not guilty on all charges but two counts of intimidating a Witness.
