The Scottie boy's #1 doubles team of Cody Jones and Ashab Ahmed moved into the

second round of play with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Clinton County's McFall and Choate.

Coach Downing said "This was definitely the best match of the season for Cody and

Ashab.  They played smart and aggressive doubles."  The Scotties #2 doubles team of

Sabid Mir and Adam Garrett did not fare as well, falling to the more experienced and

#3 seeded team of Thomison and Gottke from Warren Central 6-2, 6-1.  In singles

play, Glasgow's Brian Sadler lost a tough first set to Allen County/Scottsville's

Newton 6-4 when the rains came, postponing play until Tuesday.  Sadler will begin

his comeback in his singles match along with other postponed matches before the

second round of play begins.

In Lady Scottie girl's action at Kereiakes Park, MacLean Lessenberry overpowered

Bunnell of Caverna by 6-0, 6-0.  The #2 doubles team of Pooja Santapuram and

Elizabeth Garrett were leading their match against Caverna's Jones and Reed 6-0, 5-0

and will complete their match Tuesday.  4th Region #3 singles seed Chandra Taylor

and Lady Scottie #1 doubles team Maitlyn Nuckols and Mikayla Powell had yet to begin

play and will also play Tuesday.
