GLASGOW COUNCIL ESTABLISHES HONOR FOR TWYMAN; OTHER NEWS FROM MONDAY NIGHT'S MEETING PDF Print

The city of Glasgow will honor a man who made history in so many ways in his lifetime.  Next Month, on May 19th Former Mayor Luska J. Twyman would’ve been 100 years old.  A special proclamation was read as a part of last night’s city council meeting by city attorney Ben Rogers:

Some appointments last night to boards and commissions.  John Rogers was appointed to the Glasgow Housing Authority to replace Joe Goodman, III who has served for 16 years in that position.  And Bob Carey was appointed to the Housing and Building appeals board storm water advisory committee to fill the unexpired term of Dwayne Pierce.  Action last night by the council added the storm water advisory committee duties to the Housing and Building appeals board.

The council also heard a comprehensive run down of this year’s Glasgow Highland Games celebration May 30th through June 2nd  from President Bob Harrison.
